Pearls of Wisdom Gleaned from Otterhound Breeders

We can all learn something from other breeders.  Here are a few cues we are sharing for Spring about bitches having trouble producing enough milk.
  1.  Here's one to try coming straight from Wisconsin and Illinois.  After puppies are whelped, start feeding your bitch one fried brat each day.  The saltiness will stimulate her to drink more water bringing in her milk.  She'll love you for it!
  2. Have you considered acupuncture?  This helps some bitches.
  3. Talk to your vet about a drug intervention.
All advise should be considered only after checking with your veterinarian.
